‘Dear Michael,
Red Kite’s Specialist setting has offered X everything that she needs to help her maintain being regulated.
Your execution in the way you deliver her individual special needs is precise. You notice everything about her,
for example if she likes kinetic sand you have offered to get her favourite colour, you have given her choices
and this has had a positive effect her eating. She now likes to eat breakfast at home as you offered so many
alternatives, she felt comfortable enough to try something new. You do not pressure her and this had made
her flourish. I can see that she will be doing many amazing things at this school. You have also made me as a
parent very welcome, all your staff that I have met are very welcoming and most importantly your interested
and you listen to us…’

Hi Michael
It was great to visit Red Kite and meet with you and Simon this week. I was so impressed with what you are doing.
I am emailing to say that your pupil age group in the numbers area has been changed. I hope it is OK now.
Have a great summer break when it comes and I will hopefully see you at an area or national event next term.
Kind regards

Dear Michael,
X’s grandfather said during our network meeting yesterday-
“X has come along way this year and this is all down to school, she would not be where she is now if it was not for Red Kite”

Hello Lucy,
I hope you’re well.
X and I were talking today after school…
Thanks so much for your support, as always.
Best wishes,
Parent
Good evening Lucy,
Thank you so much for your email and for your lovely words about X… We really enjoyed the coffee morning, it’s such a lovely event to put on, it’s particularly good for us parents to come in and see everything they have done and continue to do. I was so thrilled with her achievements and she was super keen to show her dad!
I agree this feels like a really positive step forward…
Thanks again for your continued support.
Best wishes,
Parent
| 21/07/2025 A quick thank you Hi Michael I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say a proper thank you — I haven’t had the chance to catch you in person, but I really didn’t want to let it go unsaid. You’ve done such a brilliant job helping to shape Red Kite into an even better place to work, and I really appreciate everything you’ve put into that. In particular, I think the fortnightly newsletter is a fantastic addition. It’s such a great way to shine a light on all the everyday wins happening around the school — and it brings such a positive buzz with it. I know these things don’t just magically happen, so thank you for all the effort it’s taken to get it going. I love that potential students and families can get an idea of the Red Kite day looks like week to week through the flyer. I got to have a good chat with a parent during the coffee morning, and she spoke very positively of the Newsletter, saying how she loved to see what the students got up to and enjoyed the successes being shared on there. Thanks Jordan Hempstead – teacher (Red Kite School) |

Red Kite School Reflect on Action Packed First Year
Since opening in September, the fun at Red Kite School has not stopped. From enlightening trips including museum visits, a Silverstone STEM careers event, local walks and games in the park, to coffee mornings, bake-offs, a gardening club and drama workshops onsite, pupils have had lots of ways to explore their unique interests.
Assistant Headteacher, Lucy Metcalfe, shared “Alongside this packed agenda, we’ve developed sensory rooms to deliver a light and calming space, and focused on improving our curriculum so that every child can enjoy school. Our team has done a huge amount of work this year, which is reflected in our thriving, brilliant community, with pupils making great progress.”
